Goodies and good times at Fall Festival of Fun
Wear your Halloween costume and gather the whole family for the PARKS Fall Festival of Fun. The free, drive-thru-style event will be held 4 - 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Jim R. Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road SW in Marietta.
As you roll through, you'll engage with princesses, dinosaurs, pirates, superheroes and many more of your favorite characters. You'll also see decorated vehicles in our Fun Auto Zone and more throughout the park. Every child will receive a goodie bag from our candy fairies. No need to bring a bag. Participants are asked to stay in their cars and buckled up. The event is free, but please register in advance.

Be sure to take photos as you're out enjoying Cobb parks and facilities. Bring your camera or use your smartphone to capture the fun and memories. Show us your favorite pictures from fairs and festivals, sports activities, nature and wildlife and anything else that shows why you enjoy spending time at the park.

Last day to enjoy the North Georgia State Fair
Friday, Oct. 1 is the last day to enjoy the largest fair in metro Atlanta, the Superior Plumbing Presents North Georgia State Fair. Hours are 12:30 - 10 p.m. The event attracts more than 365,000 people every year from Georgia and neighboring states. It features two petting barns with barnyard and exotic animals. There are also flower shows, blue ribbon competitions for handmade goods and items, fruits, vegetables and artwork of all kinds. Enjoy local entertainment and delicious fair foods.
The fair has implemented a YOUTH ATTENDANCE POLICY and a CLEAR BAG POLICY. These new policies are in line with other events and establishments and are designed to ensure a family-friendly environment for all patrons.
Youth Attendance Policy: After 6 p.m. each day, no individual under the age of 17 will be allowed admission without a parent.
Clear Bag Policy: Bags entering the fair must be clear bags and may not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. One-gallon resealable clear plastic freezer bags and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” are also permitted.
Gate Entry Policy: No fair entry after 9 p.m.
Gate admission is $10. Children 10 and under enter free. Ride tickets are $1.25 each, $20 for 21 tickets, $50 for 55 tickets and $100 for 120 tickets. All rides require more than one ticket. Parking is $5 (cash only). ATM machines are located on the midway.

Enjoy a leisurely walking tour as you venture back in time and explore the property that has been farmed since 1840. The 135 acres that make up the original Hyde Farm consist of numerous cultural resources. Natural features include the Chattahoochee River and forests that are found in both the lowlands adjacent to the river and the uplands near the home site. Man-made features include terraced agricultural fields, lowland pastures/old fields, the orchard, the home site, the meadows and the farm outbuilding sites. Enjoy the pond which is stocked with catfish and bass that was built on Mulberry Creek in the 1980s. And you may see geese, ducks, herons, turtles and even beavers.
The 45-minute tour starts at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month. Meet near the red gate at the end of the parking lot. Call 770-528-8840 if you have any questions.

Registration is currently in progress. Team registration will close Monday, Oct. 23 and individual registration will close Monday, Oct. 16. The cost is $400 for a team or $50 for an individual. Leagues are offered at Ron Anderson Recreation Center, Fullers Recreation Center, Fair Oaks Recreation Center and South Cobb Recreation Center. League play will begin the week of Nov. 6. Call for Vendors - Holiday Market
Vendor can apply until Oct. 14 for Cobb's 12 Days of Christmas Holiday Markets at all four art centers: Sewell Mill Cultural Center, Mable House Arts Center, The Art Place-Mountain View, and The Art Station-Big Shanty.
This year’s markets will run from Nov. 29 - Dec. 9. You may apply at one, two, three, or all four locations. Please note an application fee is required for each location.
