Marietta Melt Yard Opens New Retro Archade

Arcade to feature vintage pinball machines and arcade games

By Matt DeBusschere March 4, 2024

Marietta Melt Yard, Marietta’s most fun and unique dining experience, announced today the addition of a retro arcade.  Called the Melt Yard Arcade, it will officially open inside the restaurant this Friday, March 1, and will feature the third most pinball machines in all of Metro Atlanta, along with multiple classic arcade games.

“There’s nothing like this in the core of Marietta, so it’s just one more thing that will set Melt Yard apart, and make us an even more fun destination,” said Melt Yard co-owner, Justin Wilfon.

“Justin and I have a deep appreciation for nostalgia, so we decided to take our restaurant to the next level by introducing a unique, retro arcade. This addition complements Melt Yard’s “throwback” ambiance already established by our 1960s van-turned-bar and MTV era music video displays,” said Melt Yard co-owner, Matt DeBusschere.

Melt Yard teamed up with local arcade game restoration experts, Marietta Kingpins, to put together the arcade.  Many games in the Melt Yard Arcade date back to the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, and create an incredible nostalgia factor.

“We want to pass along the joy that we experienced as kids growing up in the 80’s and 90’s,” said Wesley Bramlett of Marietta Kingpins. “Our goal is to create memories and experiences that kids will remember for the rest of their lives and ones that adults enjoy reliving at the Melt Yard Arcade.”

Many of the pinball machines also allow players to track their scores, and compete against people across the country.  The Melt Yard Arcade will also feature monthly tournaments and league play, with the first tournament scheduled for Saturday, March 2.  Among the classic arcade games featured in the arcade are Street Fighter II Turbo, Cruis’n USA and NBA Jam.
