The Chet Austin Teen Leadership Academy is a 5-day educational leadership program for rising 9th – 12th grade high school students held on KSU’s Kennesaw Campus in the Prillaman Social Sciences building. Knowing how to direct, lead, manage, inspire, and work in teams are all critical real-world life skills that will help prepare students for life beyond high school. From icebreakers to engaging discussions, the Chet Austin Teen Leadership Academy aims to provide teens with an opportunity to build long lasting connections with other teens through fun and thought-provoking activities that will guide your teen towards the discovery of their own innate skills, passions, and personal goals in life. Your student will have the opportunity to take the Strong Interest Inventory assessment that will give insight into their personal interests to help guide them toward their educational path and potential careers.
The Chet Austin Teen Leadership Academy aims to empower students with the necessary knowledge to pursue daunting questions, like: how can I build my own path from high school to my ideal career? What are the ways to find adequate financial aid opportunities? How do I select the right major? How do I budget for expenses in college? We will also hear from admissions staff and have conversations with career advisors to give your high school student a first-hand experience of life as a college student.
